Hello, Sixty!
Sixty on Center is the exhibition design and creative studio of Ellen Richardson.
For nearly two decades, I have partnered with museums, cultural organizations, and arts institutions to create engaging experiences that connect people with ideas, collections, and stories. My work spans exhibition design, graphic communication, interpretive planning, and creative strategy for fine art, cultural, and historical exhibitions.
Throughout my career, I have worked with organizations ranging from nationally recognized museums to smaller institutions with ambitious goals and limited resources. These experiences have taught me that successful projects are built on thoughtful collaboration, clear communication, and a shared vision.
Depending on the needs of a project, I may serve as an independent designer, collaborate as part of an existing team, or lead a network of trusted museum professionals. Through Sixty on Center, I can assemble the right mix of expertise—including content developers, historians, media specialists, conservators, mount makers, collections management professionals, architects, fabricators, and other consultants—to support projects of varying scale and complexity.
At the heart of my work is a belief that great exhibitions do more than present information. They create opportunities for discovery, connection, and meaningful engagement. My goal is to help institutions transform ideas into experiences that are thoughtful, memorable, and grounded in the unique stories they have to tell.
